The study area extends from Skipper Road, north of the University of South Florida (USF), to downtown Tampa and continues to the Westshore area. The HART AA study area is approximately 20.5 miles long and contains 18.5% of the population and 57.6% of the employment found in Hillsborough County. The Northeast Corridor runs north to south, and spans from E. Bearss Avenue to downtown Tampa, and has a width from west of Florida Avenue to just east of 40th Street. The West Corridor runs east to west, spans from 40th Street to Memorial Highway, and has a width from Spruce Street to south of Kennedy Boulevard. While we are focused on this study area, we are also looking at how future connections can be made to other plans for our county and region. HART is coordinating closely with land use and transportation planning agencies to ensure consistency with their plans.
