Goals & Objectives

The following goals and objectives have been established for this project:

Goal: Promote sensible and sustainable growth patterns

Objectives:

• Create land-use and development patterns that support transportation
• Provide mobility for the increasing travel demand within and through the study area
• Support redevelopment of economically underutilized sites for transit-oriented development
• Support city, county, and regional economic development initiatives and growth management policies

Goal: Provide a cost-effective and efficient transportation investment strategy

Objectives:

• Establish viable alternatives to single-occupant vehicles
• Complement existing and planned transit infrastructure investments
• Maximize operating and capital cost efficiency

Goal: Enhance the quality of life within the study area

Objectives:

• Minimize the adverse transportation-related environmental impacts and foster positive environmental impacts
• Increase accessibility and connectivity among neighborhoods, employment centers, and major trip attractors
• Increase transit options for transit-dependent and low-income population
